Accessibility

How we tested this website

This website is being tested for accessibility. The test is being carried out by Shaw Trust Accessibility Services using their team of accessibility assessors and technical auditors.

Shaw Trust have over 15 years experience of supporting organisations to make their content accessible and has a rigorous testing process to ensure that content created meets the international accessibility guidelines.

Shaw Trust will test a number of pages, testing different content types and functionality and will ensure a wide range of pages are visited.

What we are doing to improve accessibility

We will continue to work with Shaw Trust who will check our website on a monthly and annual basis to ensure that we address accessibility issues as they appear.

This statement was prepared on 31 July 2025.

Accessible visually

We hope that the website looks vibrant and interesting but not at the expense of clarity.

We have tested colour contrast ratios and default font sizes for accessibility. You can adapt the website to use larger text and higher contrast colours via your browser or operating system, if you prefer.

Accessible content

We know that the technical requirements and visual design are just part of the picture.

The Lifestyle website has been built with the user and accessibility in mind. This means that every page has a clear purpose and speaks directly to the people who need to access it.

We have refined the structure and the navigation of the website in order so that we make it as easy as possible for you to find the information you need. And we have tried to write each page so that it is as clear as it can be.

Our commitment to usability

Navigation assistance: keyboard or mouse?

If you have restricted mobility or wish to avoid repetitive strain injury, you may find it useful to use your keyboard instead of your mouse to navigate our website.

By using Tab and Enter on your keyboard, it is possible to navigate and access all areas of our website.

The Tab key allows you to move and browse amongst the menus and links displayed on each page, and pressing Enter will activate your request for a particular menu or link.

The arrow keys on the keyboard will enable you to move up or down the page or from left to right.

By using the Skip Navigation link while browsing with your keyboard, navigational elements of the page are skipped, allowing you to quickly reach the content of pages.

UserWay plug-in

We are working with UserWay who provide a third-party plug-in for greater accessibility. This includes features such as increasing the size of text and changing the contrast colours, etc for greater visibility.
