Video transcript:

Tell us about what you do at Wrexham AFC?

Kerry Evans: I'm there to support all families with disabilities. We have, you know, people in their hundreds with all sorts of disabilities to access Wrexham Football Club and be able to come and enjoy live sport. My biggest achievement would probably be having a quiet zone which enables families to attend in a setting where they feel welcome and safe. Where we have extra support in place rather than being in the general crowd.

Tell us more about your appearance in the Disney+ show Welcome to Wrexham?

Kerry Evans: That's been really, really strange. When we first got told that we were being filmed, it was very, very out of the norm of what we're used to. Suddenly having cameras in your house, cameras outside your front windows, cameras following you around at work. Yeah, it was really, really strange. We're now all quite used to it. It's been going on that long.

What was it like the first time meeting Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney?

Kerry Evans: It was lovely the first time that I met them both. The very first time that they came to the football club and had a look around because they had owned the club for quite some time in COVID and hadn’t been able to get to the club. So, I spent quite a lot of time that first weekend getting to know them. To be honest, now they are bosses, you know, it's the norm for me now.

Do you have any nice anecdotes with fans you can share?

Kerry Evans: This was a picture I've recently been given of a young girl that came all the way from America, literally, to try our quiet zone. She is a girl with autism that felt that being in a crowded stadium would not be for her. And they'd heard of our quiet zone. So they came over to see what Wrexham was all about and sat in our quiet zone. And when I, when she arrived she'd, she'd done this drawing of me. That shows how world wide we're now getting.

Tell us more about your Motability Scheme car

Kerry Evans: Having a vehicle for Motability has literally changed my life. It gives me the independence to be able to get from A to B myself. I can drive to work independently, make friends.

Do you have any guilty pleasures?

Kerry Evans: I'm a nan, so my little granddaughter is my world. I learned before I was at the football club to hand sew cards with only my one hand. And I was very, very proud of those. And I like doing adult LEGO.
