Get ready, the Milano Cortina 2026 Paralympic Winter Games are here! From 6–15 March, Italy takes centre stage as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the very first Winter Paralympics.
Excitement is high, particularly with the debut of Wheelchair Curling Mixed Doubles on the Paralympic programme.
Below, we spotlight ParalympicsGB medal contenders across the events.
Para Alpine Skiing – Neil Simpson (with Andrew Simpson and Rob Poth)
Defending champion Neil Simpson aims to replicate his historic Beijing 2022 gold. The athlete who is visually impaired will be using a dual-guide strategy as he races down the slopes. Andrew Simpson, Neil’s brother, returns to guide the speed events and Rob Poth, the two-time British champion steps in to guide the technical events. “The Paralympics are the pinnacle... doing it in a country so enthusiastic about skiing will create a great atmosphere,” says Neil.

Para Nordic Skiing – Scott Meenagh
Entering his third and final Games, Scott Meenagh, a former British Army soldier, looks to end what has been a spectacular decade in style. After becoming the first Brit to win a Para Nordic World Championship medal (Silver, 2023) and securing a recent World Cup bronze in Sweden, Scott is in peak form for his final performance. “The Games in Italy will be extra special... To have my family travelling to support me will help push me to another level,” says Scott.
Snowboarding: James Barnes-Miller and Ollie Hill
James, who became the first para snowboarder to represent GB at the Paralympics, returns for his third Games, after competing in PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022. Ollie made history with a Banked Slalom bronze at Beijing 2022 and he backed it up by winning the 2023 Crystal Globe and has started the 2025/26 season with two solid top-five World Cup finishes.

Wheelchair Curling: Mixed Doubles – Jo Butterfield MBE and Jason Kean
This duo is set to make history as the first Brits to compete in the new Mixed Doubles event. Jo Butterfield, a Rio 2016 Club Throw champion, is chasing a rare Summer/Winter double gold. After recovering from cancer treatment, she partnered with Riga International winning partner Jason Kean. “To go for gold at both a Summer and a Winter Paralympic Games is a goal I set myself when I first transferred to curling... it’s a challenge I’m fully committed to,” says Jo

Wheelchair Curling: Mixed Team – Hugh Nibloe, Karen Aspey, Graeme Stewart, Austin McKenzie and Stewart Pimblett
Hugh Nibloe heads to his third Games, hungry for his first Paralympic medal after securing World Championship silver and bronze. He leads an exciting squad of four Paralympic debutants: Graeme Stewart, Austin McKenzie, Karen Aspey and Stewart Pimblett. "I am hoping this will be third time lucky for me... I want to return as a medallist this time." says Hugh Nibloe.
