Crystal Palace Football Club has taken a groundbreaking step by becoming the first football club in the world to offer a headset designed to enhance the matchday experience for visually impaired fans.

The headset features two modes to assist fans in following the game. The first mode allows users to zoom in on specific areas of the pitch or the surrounding stadium, helping them focus on key moments of the game. The second casts live footage from the host broadcast feed, enabling users to watch the match as it happens, with no delay, similar to watching it on TV but within the stadium.

In the UK, over two million people are living with sight loss, and of these, 340,000 are registered as blind or partially sighted, according to the NHS. For many visually impaired sports fans, attending live matches can be a challenging experience. Now, this innovation gives visually impaired fans a more immersive, enjoyable experience while attending a Premier League game.
