People with disabilities and carers can benefit from discounted rates on e-bikes and e-scooters with the expansion of the Lime Access programme.

The programme was originally created to offer discounted rides to individuals facing financial or transport barriers, offering sustainable and flexible travel to as many people as possible.

Anyone holding a valid and up-to-date National Disability Card or a National Carers Card is now eligible for a 50% discount on all Lime rides. The discount automatically halves both the initial unlock fee and the per-minute ride rate.

“By extending Lime Access to National Disability Card and National Carers Card holders, we’re helping to remove cost barriers and give people greater independence when moving around their city, particularly for shorter trips that can be difficult or expensive using other transport options,” says Alice Pleasant, Lime Senior Public Affairs Manager.

Where can you use the Lime Access discount?

You can use the 50% discount across any UK city where Lime currently operates, including London, Oxford, Milton Keynes, Salford, and Nottingham. Even better, your reduced rate travels wherever you do. So, if you live in Nottingham but take a weekend trip to London, your half-price rides are still active.

This benefit is set to extend across the West Midlands, covering Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton, when Lime launches there on 1 April 2026.

To apply to join the Lime Access programme, visit the Lime website or go to the ‘Lime Access’ section within the Lime mobile app.

The Motability Scheme is the service that keeps disabled people moving. It’s delivered by Motability Operations and overseen by the Motability Foundation, which helps disabled people make the journeys they choose.
