I am about to take delivery of my new Peugeot Rifter WAV, having had the previous version for five years. Will I need a brief handover?
This is an amazing question, as we do see this happen from time to time. Customers find a vehicle that works for them, order another at renewal and accept the vehicle, but then discover that their wheelchair doesn't fit, or the seating layout is slightly different or the technology has changed. My recommendation is to always treat it like your first WAV, so get a full demonstration before ordering to check it meets your needs.
Should I input the PIN to authorise the handover of my WAV if I've spotted a few issues?
Entering your PIN is saying that your vehicle has been checked and meets your needs so, if it's not right, don't enter it. Your converter will be more than happy to resolve any issues before you put in the PIN.
The WAV I'm interested in is from converters miles away. Where would I have to take the car for service and maintenance?
Our converter partners supply WAVs all over the UK, and they have field-based teams who can fix problems at your home address. If there is an issue that needs further investigation, the converter would assist with moving the vehicle to their base location. For service and MOTS, these can be done locally to you, and the converter is on hand as your managing dealer to assist with this.
If my WAV is damaged in an accident and off the road for a while, will the Motability Scheme help with a suitable replacement vehicle?
Our insurers, Direct Line, will help find a replacement vehicle while yours is off the road. Call them on 0300 037 3737 or visit motabilityscheme.directline.com/contact-us.
How long do I need to spend on a WAV demonstration and how many do I need to book?
This is a hard one to answer as everyone is different and it should be what works for you. However, remember that WAV leases are five years, so ensuring it meets your short and long-term needs is something to focus on.
